Arc flash may appear under circumstances of high voltage gear pulling, short circuiting, repair and maintenance. The arc exposure and the accompanying short duration intense heat of the exposure may cause burns. Ordinary clothes usually ignite and continue to burn to cause further burns and damage. Arch flash is a unique serious safety hazard. Arch Flash Protective Suits are made of special flame and heat resistant fabrics to give fullbody protection. The garments are classified into 3 levels from Level 2 to Level 4 according to levels of APTV levels by using different material and combination. The suits are made according to NFPA 70E, ASTM F1506 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910-269, suitable for such industries like power generation, transmission and distribution.
